The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides financial compensation and support to New Zealand citizens, residents, and temporary visitors who have suffered personal injuries.

The ACC may contribute towards the cost of your dental treatment as a result of an accident or a sport injury. Co-payments are waived for patients under the age of 18 years old.

Thompson Dental is contracted by the Auckland District Health Board to provide free services for adolescents. A range of preventive, restorative treatment and specialist dental services are available to adolescents up until 18 years age.

Having a healthy mouth and teeth is important for the overall health and well-being of your child. Healthy teeth and gums play an important part in your child’s ability to smile, eat, speak and socialise.

Work and Income

Work and Income New Zealand can also provide discretionary financial assistance for urgent dental treatment for low income adults.

You don’t have to be on a benefit to qualify for this help but you may have to pay some of the money back depending on your situation.
